THE VALUE OF THERAPY

Counseling is a confidential and nonjudgmental partnership that can bring relief in areas of stress, tools to manage life’s challenges and freedom to live more fully as yourself.  Having a Board licensed clinician join with you to reach your goals is often helpful.

THE ROLE OF THERAPY

People come to counseling to manage stress, improve functioning, and achieve desired goals. Just as we might go to a personal trainer to gain strength and wellness and not necessarily because we are sick, counseling can also provide professional support and resources that help build additional inner strength, life skills and wellness. Counseling can help with processing and developing skills to navigate challenging feelings, experiences and seasons.  Therapy tends to be most beneficial to those who attend sessions regularly and practice skills learned from counseling.  

WHEN TO SEEK THERAPY

The stress and challenges of life have made it harder to live the life you want to live. You are not quite yourself. You can experience the relief and success you desire.

THERAPY | WHAT TO CONSIDER

It is normal to have mixed feelings about participating in therapy. I welcome all of your feelings and thoughts. The length of therapy will largely depend on how deeply impacted you are by your reasons for seeking counseling. Concerns related to clinical mood diagnoses, and family of origin tend to benefit longer term therapy.
